20 WOMEN REINVENTING MENOPAUSE

The Filmmaker Bronwen Parker-Rhodes

Film Director, The New York Times

Bronwen Parker-Rhodes

What Bronwen wants you to know about menopause:
“There is so much about the female body that doesn’t get discussed enough and many women struggle and suffer in silence because of it.”

Documentary filmmaker Bronwen Parker-Rhodes wants conversations about menopause to happen more often, and without fear. To achieve that, Parker-Rhodes created and directed two films After Birth and Menopause Stories, the latter was featured in The New York Times and garnered over 600 comments.

Through her films, Bronwen uncovers these defining moments in a woman’s life and provides a platform for women to share their experiences with menopause. From night sweats, restless legs, bad digestion, heartburn, brain fog, and more, women are sharing their personal experience with menopause and how to gracefully transition into their next phase of life. “Many women think menopause is the end of your life. Me? I’m just getting started,” a woman shares through laughter in Menopause Stories. “I got shit to do. How could this be the end of my life? You may as well just live your life at any age, I’m not going down.” Continuing to provide a platform for women to share their stories, Bronwen is breaking down the stigmas attached to menopause and helping ensure women aren’t suffering in silence.
