No, Elektra is not designed to replace your gynecologist. Our board-certified gynecologists and nurse practitioners have specific expertise in perimenopause and menopause care, which many gynecologists do not. They are also certified by the North American Menopause Society (NAMS). Our medical providers work with you to develop a holistic care plan that’s customized to your needs and goals. If your provider thinks a physical examination is necessary, she will discuss this with you during the visit. We can help you with a referral, as needed.

At your request, we are happy to share your care plan and notes with your existing provider.

We emphasize holistic, personalized care that addresses symptoms as well as optimal long-term health and wellness. Depending on your needs and goals, your Elektra provider may recommend a combination of behavioral and lifestyle changes, over-the-counter products or supplements, and prescription medication — including hormone therapy or HRT — if we both agree that it makes sense for you.

Yes, our providers may prescribe HRT if they conclude you’re a good candidate for it. This is based on an assessment of the short and long-term risks and benefits in the context of your individual health history and preferences. If you proceed with HRT, we require a 3-month minimum commitment for ongoing care and monitoring by your care team (your first month is included in the cost of your initial visit, and each additional month is priced at $49, for a total of $297 for 90 days).

Due to telemedicine regulations, our virtual clinic can only offer telemedicine care, including labs and prescriptions, to residents in Connecticut, Florida, and New York.

If you are based elsewhere, you may still book a virtual Menopause Wellness Consultation or Sexual Health Consultation. Our providers answer your questions and provide guidance, resources, and referrals you can trust. Please note these visits do not include specific medical advice, diagnosis, labs, or prescriptions.

We do not currently accept insurance; however, you may request a receipt to submit for out-of-network reimbursement. Lab tests and prescriptions – if needed – may be covered by your existing insurance.

Yes! We accept FSA/HSA, and you may pay with your card directly or submit your receipt for reimbursement. Keep in mind, though, that every plan is different, so it’s a good idea to check your plan’s guidelines first.

We ask that you share your recent records and results with your Elektra provider to help provide the best care. We may also request labs and tests (i.e., blood work) after your first visit. If so, we will request your insurance information and can help you locate a lab in your area to complete these steps. Depending on your insurance, lab work and diagnostic tests may be covered.
